This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and develops the organization’s overall program management strategies, and directs and executes the management of the company programs.
Must develop a broad understanding of the strategic and operational needs that our products address and guide our internal R&D to best serve our customer’s current and future needs.
Represents the company in the planning, execution, reporting and management of multiple programs at an executive level.
Assists the Business Development Team in proposal preparations, supports negotiations, program start-ups and monitors program plans.
Responsible for the program progress and support requirements, and direct appropriate engineering, contracts, operations and support activities.
Customer conduit and seamless interface between external and internal customers for management and reporting of programs’ progress, program changes and improvements.
Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Working with finance, translates program budget allocations for functional organizational support and coordinates activities of various internal departments to ensure company satisfaction.
Participates in Strategic Planning and development of projects, recommends budget and establishes Program related IRAD priorities for engineering studies based on customer feedback, emerging technologies and future program-driven requirements.
Responsible for meeting customer requirements and responding to customer inquiries to insure prompt handling, monitoring progress of work performed under the program including preparing periodic reports and estimates of completion dates and prompt handling of customer problems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and runs the global schedule for program reviews which includes:
Gate reviews, specifics on financials/timing/risks
Determination of schedule, logistics, and frequency
Provides monthly updates to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) through business status reports
Supports the sales team by leading the development of quotations and proposals; identifies opportunities for growth within programs, and new potential projects. This leader will own the Proposal Management organization for the business.
Coordinates all required disciplines (engineering, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, quality and sales, etc.) to execute programs to customers’ expectations, meeting or exceeding quality and cost objectives. Makes required adjustments and recommends changes to maintain targeted margins.
Develops and publishes global metrics for programs:
Monthly report showing G/Y/R for Quality, Timing, Financial
Break out by division and customer
Ensures proper methods are followed to track program cost, schedules and performance for all programs.
Track all program costs, schedules and performance against established program milestones; reporting the status to management stakeholders on a regular basis.
Develops PM toolkit.
Furthers improvement in the Company’s quality functionality/usability
Training material for Program and Project Managers to help standardize the function
Evaluates each business segment on Program Management:
Provides feedback/coaching/plans for improvement
Identifies “Best Practices”
Audits frequently the Program Management process and identifies failure and weaknesses including inefficiencies of the systems. Creates, implements and reviews action plans to correct the issues.
Serves as primary contact point for customer(s) to address special requirements, and to identify and resolve problems.
Manages programs’ end-of-life (EOL) cycles to minimize financial exposure; prepares, negotiates and settles any and all liability claims with the customer; supports the supply group in managing EOL with supplier base.
Compose PMP reviews for direct reports and provide input for his functional reports.
May represent the business in the community, at association meetings, selected events, and in appointed committees.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Program Management, Business or Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university; Master’s or MBA preferred.
Minimum 10 years of related experience.
Certification in Program Management. Prefer additional project management and quality certifications.
Experience in an OEM aerospace company. Experience with Commercial and Military Programs.
Experience should include managing DoD Subcontracts and Programs and major prime contracts.
Proposal preparation and FAR knowledge and experience desired.
Program management experience in military/aerospace industry required.
Experience in planning, execution, reporting and management of multiple programs.
Must have Contract Management and Export Administration experience.
