Part-Time Experienced Picture Framer

We prefer someone with experience or comfort using the following equipment (or equivalent brands): Lifesaver point of sale software, Wizard mat cutter, a Brevetti double miter saw, Valiani wall mounted cutter, Vacuseal press, AMP underpinner, and various pneumatic tools.
If you currently do not know how to frame, but have experience working in the arts or transferable skills, such as wood working, we are willing to train you in custom art framing. Compensation varies based on your art framing experience.
For someone with prior custom art framing experience, there may be the opportunity to include custom frame designing as part of your responsibilities.
Production Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cutting mats with computerized mat cutter, manually cutting oversized. Being able to execute different types of cuts (reverse bevels, depth of cut, multiple openings, etc).
· Cutting glass and acrylic precisely and with minimal waste
· Cut and join frames and fillets with high level of accuracy
· Canvas stretching
· Fabric wrapping
· Mirror framing
· Art mounting
· A variety of shadow box making and assembly (big part of our business)
· Know how to image artwork post production for marketing purposes
Key Requirements:
· Experience in the framing or art industry or business
· Experience in handling art
· Organized and clean working habits
· Pleasant personality and team-oriented attitude
· Must demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with team members, other framers, suppliers, customers, and management
· Must possess a high level of independence, dependability, creativity, judgment and accuracy
· We have some flexibility in setting work schedules, so long as it fits within our store hours of Mon-Friday, 10am to 6pm and Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
· Ability to work on Saturday.
· Ability to pick up large trash cans (can weigh 50lbs) and dispose of materials outside.
· Willingness to clean the shop including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows and occasionally the employee bathroom.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
