Position summary
The Product Specialist is responsible for managing the creation of new probiotics products, managing changes to existing products, leading continuous improvement projects for the business, and coordinating customer visits to the Madison site.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Initiates and manages progress of all product workflows related to creation and modification of SKUs for the NAFTA region
Acts as steward for assigned customers/SKUs to ensure products are profitable and sustainable
Helps drive customer opportunities to a successful conclusion
Manages customer special (non-standard) requests for product information and samples
Serves as the commercial lead for continuous improvement projects, new product launches and/or miscellaneous special projects
Communicates status of projects and performance metrics to stakeholders
Represents the business in decision-making for non-productive inventory
Represents the business in supply planning meetings
Represents the business in disposition and investigation of out-of-spec materials
Manages customer acceptance projects for out-of-spec materials
Coordinates and provides administrative support for Madison site visits for probiotic customers from all regions
Occasional travel to industry trade shows, customer locations and 3rd party tollers
Backup for other product specialists
Other support duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
3-5 years of experience in a related field (technology, project management, marketing, etc.)
A proven track record of strong project management skills for both short and long-term projects
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to influence others and accomplish goals as a strong cross-functional partner
Excellent customer interaction and communication skills
Ability to focus and adapt in unpredictable and fast-paced work environment
Ability to identify and manage risks
Natural bias towards paying attention to details
Bachelor’s degree in technical or marketing field
Ability to travel up to 20%

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
Prior experience with probiotics manufacturing operations and/or quality management systems
Prior experience in probiotics, pharma, dietary supplements, or food ingredients industries
Prior Six Sigma or Lean experience and certifications
