We are currently seeking a Director of Modeling to join our team in our St. Louis or Chicago Offices.
JOB OVERVIEW: The Director of Modeling will report to the President and be responsible for Cardinal’s quantitative models in support of client services, specifically: Day-to-day management of quantitative models; and the strategic vision for future model development at Cardinal.
Maintaining a best-in-class quantitative modeling service offering will require the Director’s successful creation and use of:
· Training and development programs
· Data acquisition, manipulation, and management
· A scalable service leveraging technology and efficient processes
· Procedural codification and audit
· Fostering creativity and collaboration amongst team members
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for all quantitative modeling tools and resources
· Modeling capacity, resourcing, and needs
· Modeling strategic plan and budget
· Recommendations for hiring and firing of internal and external modeling resources
· Education plan / curriculum for model training
· Partner with Director of Capital Markets for index and market inputs
· Partner with Director of IT for technology needs and resources
· Partner with Director of Manager Research for modeling needs
· Partner with client consulting teams
· Permanent member of internal Investment Policy Committee (IPC)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish new organizational formation of modeling team(s) with team leaders
· Conduct and coordinate performance evaluations of team members and team leaders
· Assist in recruiting and hiring team members
KEY DELIVERABLES IN THE ROLE
· Annual report on the modeling function
· Annual Model Audit Reviews
· 3-year strategic plan
· Budget input
· Resource requests
· Personnel development plans
· RFP answers around modeling
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSET
· Bachelor’s degree or higher
· At least 10 years of industry experience
· Applied math and statistical analysis
· CFA and actuarial experience desirable
· Programming (VBA, .NET, Python)
· Systems integration experience
· Business Intelligence / data visualization
· Delegation and project management
· Ability to achieve consensus from team
· Prior management experience a plus
Compensation Range: $175,000 - $250,000, plus discretionary bonus.

position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on
factors, including but not limited to: the individual’s qualifications; relevant
experience; knowledge; skills; and education.
