Gwynedd-Mercy Academy is seeking a high energy, innovative Technology Teacher/Coordinator with experience and enthusiasm to facilitate the vision, implementation, and ongoing assessment of a strategic direction in the areas of instructional technology. As the technology teacher, this person is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student an awareness of the role of technology in education and one that uses all forms of technology and skills. As Technology Coordinator, this person will work in close collaboration with the Director of Curriculum and Student Life, Director of STEM, Director of IT, and Library Media Specialist in providing oversight of all areas of educational technology integration and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Desire/commitment to work in a Mercy Mission focused, Catholic school environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or Computer Science
  • PA Teaching Certification
  • Experience in the area of Educational Technology in an elementary and/or middle school setting
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and flexibility
  • Ability to work as part of a team with faculty, parents and students
  • Familiarity with the following applications: iPad, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Web 2.0 Tools, Cloud Storage, Google Docs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works in collaboration with Director of Curriculum and Student Life, Director of STEM, Director of IT, and Library Media Specialist in the facilitation of a strategic technology plan and implementation of strategic goals for technology integration throughout the curriculum
  • Facilitates technology curriculum integration across grades K-8
  • Provides in-class instruction for grades K to 8
  • Provides ongoing staff development in support of technology goals
  • Provides ongoing assessment on all aspects of technology related to educational goals
  • Provides support and mentoring for teachers and staff as needed
  • Keeps current with new and emerging technologies and provides relative information/research to faculty and staff in support of their areas of responsibility
