Leaders in Community Alternatives, Inc. (LCA) is a community–based criminal justice organization which has been providing services in California since 1991. LCA operates several Adult Day Reporting Centers (DRC’s) which offer a broad array of reentry services and integrate evidence-based criminal justice practices into service delivery. LCA has operated a Day Reporting Program in North Sacramento for the last 5 years under contract with Sacramento County Probation and we are seeking qualified applicants for a Case Manager position.
Case managers are integral members of a multi-disciplinary team that providers a continuum of services to participants under Probation Supervision. The Case Manager provides one-on-one services to adult participants and is the primary coordinator of service delivery, including facilitation of evidence-based groups. Other responsibilities include developing Individual Service Plans with participants and ensuring follow through on linkages to mental health, substance abuse treatment and other outside services.
Minimum qualifications and experience: A minimum of one year of experience working with the criminal justice, homeless, or substance abusing population and must be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I) or an Internationally certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC). Applicants must possess either a four- year degree in the Social Sciences or a related field; or an Associate Degree and the equivalent of three cumulative years of related experience as described above.
Desirable characteristics: Case Managers must be well organized, have strong oral and written communication skills, and have cross-cultural sensitivity and competency. They possess integrity, intelligence, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and an understanding and respect for the criminal justice population.
Regular work days and hours: Monday and Thursday from 11:30am to 8:30pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; some holidays and Saturdays.
Salary: $19.00 to 21.00 per hour DOE; full-tome non-exempt (hourly)
