DMS Instructor Reports to Program Dean and/or Campus Director
Responsibilities:
Start each class punctually at the time the instructional period is scheduled to begin and dismiss each class at the time the instructional period is scheduled to end.
Maintain student grades in the grade book provided by Cambridge and submit the same on a regular basis to the Program Dean and/or registrar
Maintain accurate attendance records for each class as provided by Cambridge.
Evaluate student progress through class assignments, exams, imaging lab competencies, and practicum competencies.
Submit copies of all mid-term and final examinations to the Program Dean.
Prepare a final grade for each student and submit it to the Program Dean and/or registrar.
Follow the syllabus for each class based on the curriculum and lesson plans of the course as provided by Cambridge. Prepare additional lesson plans and assignments as needed.
Prepare and deliver lectures and lab demonstrations to students enrolled in the DMS program.
Attend and perform Student Orientation
Attend Instructor’s Meetings that are scheduled by the Program Dean or Campus Dean.
Alert Program Dean of any potential problems and/or concerns with students.
Provide instructional didactic or lab remediation or tutoring to assist a student who has requested assistance. Also providing that same assistance to a student who is at risk for failing the course.
Partner with the Clinical Coordinator and Program Dean in supporting students and preceptors in the clinical environment.
Facilitate student achievement through mentorship.
Update course syllabus and lecture modules for didactic and imaging lab courses.
Contribute in a positive way to maintain a “team environment".
Promote professionalism and coach students.
Provide feedback for continuous program improvement.
Promote and support Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology’s mission statement and academic initiatives.
Will complete and or participate in any other activities/tasks as assigned by the Program Dean/Campus Dean.
The ultrasound instructor is responsible for the general ultrasound and clinical instruction of all students enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
Evaluation of students and their academic progress.
Evaluate student progress through class assignments, exams, imaging lab competencies, and practicum competencies.
Remediation of students as necessary
Conduct Imaging lab sessions
Qualifications:
The Ultrasound instructor must possess, at a minimum the following:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Required Certification: ARDMS RDMS (AB and OB/GYN)
Preferred Additional Certification: ARDMS RVT, CCI RVS
Proficiency in teaching methodology, supervision, and classroom management
Minimum of 3- 5 years of imaging in a clinical environment
Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude
