This is a unique opportunity to expand your skills and experience in critical infrastructure facilities operations with one of the largest full-solution data center providers in the world. You will join a talented team of professionals at the newest state-of-the-art facility in Ashburn, VA. This facility currently is 465,000 square feet, and the expansion to over a million square feet is underway. As Data Center Facilities Engineer II, you will contribute to the oversight and monitoring of building operations, HVAC, electrical, BMS, emergency generators and fire/life safety systems. Critical infrastructure is the wave of the future in facilities management, and we are proactive about team building as well as professional development. As Digital Realty continues to grow, we'll be looking for proven performers to move up. We are hiring for the second and third shifts.

To meet the basic qualification for this position you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Facilities Engineer II opportunity you also should have:
Solid experience in mission critical facilities operating / engineering, including experience with mission critical infrastructure (UPS, HVAC, generators, cooling, fire/life safety systems, BMS). Data center experience is strongly preferred, but we also will consider experience in hospitals, nuclear plants, military, etc.).*
Expert, hands-on electrical or mechanical skill and competence in the area of non-expertise (for example, electrical expertise with mechanical competence or vice versa). Electrical skill and experience are currently preferred, but we will also consider those with strong mechanical talent.

The ability to:
Comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents.
Manage projects effectively.
Develop installation standards and project tracking/management documents.
Interact effectively with managers, clients, customers and vendors.
Ability to write SOPs or MOPs for automated building controls.
A high level of commitment to customer service to both co-workers and clients.
