Job Overview

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Vice President of Accounting. In this position you will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of financial activities within the organization. This role will ensure that all financial components of the organization are well-organized and executed timely, accurately, and efficiently while providing superior customer service, internally and externally.

What Will You Do?

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting data for field workforce of 150+ employees.
  • Maintain accurate job-costing elements in QuickBooks.
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions.
  • Resolves client-billing problems, applying excellent external and internal customer service.
  • Perform light accounts payable duties.
  • Reconcile banks and other general ledger accounts.
  • Work with team members to meet monthly close deadlines and goals.
  • Prepare and publish weekly sales reports.
  • Participate in the annual financial statement audit.
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining procedures.
  • Accounting-related administrative duties and projects as needed.

  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and exhibit sound judgment, seeking direction as needed to ensure the completion of essential duties and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train and take on new duties; actively supporting group goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Very strong Excel skills, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive; must be astute working with a variety of technologies.

What isn’t required but would be AWESOME?

  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience with QuickBooks job costing
  • Staffing agency experience
