The Customer Service Representative, located in Gaithersburg, MD is responsible for providing high quality and efficient customer service for Learning Without Tears (LWT) customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of LWT's products and services. The Customer Service Representative will respond to customer service and accounts receivable inquiries on LWT's physical products, services and digital programs.
This is not your typical Customer Care Representative position; there are many great things that set us apart! We are not a large call center, our calls are not scripted, we don't have call quotas, we do not require you to sell, and there are opportunities for independent decision making.
Additionally, this is position does not require working weekends, or company recognized holidays! You will be taking a calls on a variety of topics throughout the day including product questions, taking orders, basic technical troubleshooting, and more!
LWT is seeking three Seasonal Customer Care Representatives to work from June through October. This position will start as part-time hours in June & July, then transition to full-time hours August through October. A $500 completion bonus will be provided at the end of October.
What you'll be doing!
Maintain thorough knowledge of LWT's product lines and order
Provide excellent customer service by answering customer questions about LWT's products and services and providing basic technical troubleshooting on digital products utilizing various systems.
Research and resolve questions and provide appropriate follow up via phone, email or online chat.
Provide a professional and pleasant ordering experience when assisting customers with appropriate product selection by assessing the developmental needs of students and educational programs.
Process and provide efficient and accurate entry of customer phone orders into LWT's order fulfillment database, minimizing errors and maintaining a high level of productivity.
Process customer checks and wire payments and apply to appropriate invoices.
Contact and tactfully communicate with customers with overdue account balances.
Track customer orders through various order management systems and warehouse portals.
Provide support to customers by resolving problems with their orders.
Assist in making outbound customer phone calls.
Contact customers for any additional information needed on orders or returns.
Assist coworkers and other groups when necessary.
What you'll bring to the job!
High school diploma or equivalent required B.A. or B.S.
1+ year related experience in customer service.
Interest in, understanding or experience in providing technical support or assistance with digital products preferred.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Good organization skills.
Ability to work both independently (with direction) and with a team.
Excellent telephone skills fielding calls and requests from customers.
Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.
Functional knowledge of MS Office.
Experience with order entry database software preferred.
Strong service orientation
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.
Ability to work some overtime.
