Full Job Description
Overview
You'll be Ruby's go-to person for all marketing-related research. Using your qualitative and quantitative research skills and natural curiosity, you'll form hypotheses, scope research projects, analyze data from our customer and prospect databases, gather insights from secondary research, develop personas, and inform sales and marketing strategies.
In this role, you will work closely with marketers, product leaders, sales, and the customer success team to help translate research findings into actionable insights that improve our marketing messages, and increase customer retention, and engagement. You will use a range of research approaches including data analysis, interviews, journey maps, customer interviews, and surveys. The Marketing Research Manager will report to the Director of Product Marketing and while there is a preference for this position to be based in Portland, OR or Kansas City, MO, we are open to remote candidates.
What You'll Be Accountable For
Gathering and translating insights about our longtime customers, pandemic-specific customers, and potential new customers. What problems are we solving for them today? What could we help them with in the future?
Designing and executing research projects using commercial tools like Survey Monkey, as well as managing third party research engagements.
Identifying market and marketing trends and opportunities to increase conversion, retention, and LTV.
Helping our organization better understand what it's like to walk our customers' shoes and provide guidance on how those experiences could be improved and differentiated.
Translating research data and insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, sales, product, and customer success. This includes developing PowerPoint presentations, data visualizations, infographics, and whitepapers to tell stories in multiple ways for different audiences.
Measuring and reporting out on the impact of research initiatives on key business priorities.
Continually increasing the amount of research data available by optimizing methods and developing innovative ways of gathering responses to increase data.

Your Background
Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning and strategic skills with the ability to interpret and translate insights into actionable changes.
Exceptional emotional intelligence and strong relationship-building skills.
Highly efficient team player, with the ability to also work independently in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
3-5 years' experience designing, conducting, and managing customer research.
Work Environment
While we're all remote currently due to COVID, work typically takes place in an open office setting. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and computer.

Some travel may will be required, not to exceed 20% of total time. As a remote employee a quarterly visit to Portland, Oregon is recommended.
