Position Title: Licensed Counselor LMHC/LCSW/LMFT Job Code: 421
Position Summary: Engage patients using Motivational Interviewing techniques; linking patients to clinical treatment by providing referrals, and assisting in making appointments when outpatient treatment is indicated. Provide depression, suicide, and drug use screenings and services through an integrated mobile clinic and while supporting Emergency Medical Services staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Licensed therapist per Florida Department of Professional Regulation as per chapter 490 or 491 F.S. Three (3) years’ professional experience in a mental health setting. General understanding of case management and referral duties. Able to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
Preferred Qualification: Crisis Intervention experience preferred.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Professional experience working in emergency/crisis situations with multiple team members.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Develop therapeutic rapport with clients – Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in development of therapeutic relationships. Diagnostic Assessment – Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented, identify need for risk assessment. Concurrent Documentation – Completes documentation within 24 hours. Provide individual, family and group therapy to individuals for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. Screenings – Complete screenings for depression, suicide, drug use, home assessment, etc. Treatment Planning – Developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals/objectives and plans per ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual using individual strengths. Therapeutic Interventions – Use of empirically based modalities to engage and manage their mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. Referrals – Complete, document and follow up on referrals, including collateral contacts. Discharge/close referrals – Discharge clients who successfully complete therapy services and those who fail to follow through. Other Related Duties – Peer Reviews, consultation, attend staffings, work with community partners, state reporting, follow contract policies and processes, state reporting, etc.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position operates in a professional office environment and spends time in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment settings. Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer & printers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a part-time position, and the expected work hours are 24 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
