As the Administrator of Assisted Living at Bethany Village you will be responsible for planning and directing the operations of Assisted Living under the Executive Director. The successful applicant will maintain knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations. Must have three years working in a healthcare, preferably long-term care setting.
Major Duties include:
Plans and directs operations of Maplewood Assisted Living under the direction of the Executive Director.
Maintains knowledge of current Federal, State, and local regulations and professional standards.
Develops, monitors, and controls the AL operating budget.
Organizes and develops annual departmental goals and objectives.
Leads the AL team in the DHS survey process.
Manages the employment life cycle of assisted living associates including recruitment, retention, and the performance management process in accordance with Bethany Village policies and procedures.
Listens to and appropriately follows up on resident/family/associate concerns in timeframes required.
Makes rounds to evaluate care being given, facility compliance with regulations, safety and infection control issues, and to understand interdepartmental systems that need to be addressed to meet the needs of the residents.
Works effectively with department managers in the Assisted Living areas to ensure quality of service and consistency of care.
Completes C.E.U. requirements for the continuation of the AL or NHA license.
Participates in daily resident status meetings Q/A meetings, clinical process action teams, Residents’ Council, family forum, leadership roundtable, auxiliary and resident meetings.
Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, blood/bodily fluids, correct body mechanics, good personal hygiene, isolation precaution procedures, as well as knowledge of responsibilities during an emergency.
Attends and actively participates in all required training and educational sessions as directed by supervisor.
Is aware of Resident Rights (as is appropriate for this position) and demonstrates a respect for our residents and these rights.
Adheres to Standards of Attendance.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Must have three years working in a healthcare, preferably long-term care setting.
Must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field and a NHA or AL administrator’s license.
Must posses leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
Able to work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines and goals.
Able to read, write, and speak English in a professional, educated manner.
Must have excellent human relation skills and ability to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly.
Must have good public speaking and written communication skills.
Must have very good organizational skills.
Must be flexible in work hours.
Open to learning and training and committed to personal development.
Must be committed to excellence in customer satisfaction.
Must be comfortable working with older adults.
Must be team oriented and able to self-direct.
Three years of experience in long-term care or Assisted Living Administration.
Ability to work independently and setting personal and team goals.
Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agency representatives, and the general public.
Must be thoroughly familiar with the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the release of information.
Must possess the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.
Must have patience, tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates.
Will work in a well-lit and ventilated area.
May be required to work beyond normal working hours.
May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, disease conditions (e.g. TB, AIDS, Hepatitis B Virus, etc.) and hazardous chemicals.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster etc.)
Must be able to work on an on-call basis.
