Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings by working in its Refugee and Immigration Services program. The Coordinator will help eligible clients access Refugee Medical Assistance insurance benefits to meet their healthcare needs. This role will also assure the Refugee Health Assessment process is running smoothly with local clinics and connect participants to educational classes provided by the Refugee Health Promotion program. Finally, this position is needed to supervise the local administration of Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) as recipients work towards self-sufficiency goals.
Meets with clients to apply for Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) insurance benefits and provides orientation to assure recipients understand their benefits.
Assists RMA recipients in navigating other benefits they may be eligible for such as Social Security Income and Medicaid.
Maintains records to assure proper duration of RMA benefits and that follow-up communication is completed.
Schedules Refugee Health Assessments (RHA) for all new refugee arrivals and monitors system for efficiency.
Acts as a point of contact for RHA providers and participates in problem-solving meetings as needed.
Identifies and recruits participants for Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) workshops and ensures workshop sessions have appropriate number of participants for optimal learning.
Completes RHP enrollment paperwork and assessments on all participants and assures participants understand schedule and have transportation.
Supports Refugee Benefits Case Manager to assure Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) application, eligibility, and payment systems are running smoothly.
Assists in identifying program challenges and working on solutions to provide effective services.
