The Red Hat Global Business Finance team is looking for a passionate and analytically-minded Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will perform sales and financial analysis in support of the Global Sales Field Reporting Analytics team, with the opportunity to serve as a global business finance leader. Your primary focus will be to guide impactful projects to proliferate topline sales performance analytics, enhance forecast accuracy, and innovate global standardized sales productivity metrics. As a Financial Analyst, you will interact frequently with key leadership groups in the regional business Finance, Operations, Sales, People (HR), and IT teams across the globe. You’ll need to learn and grasp the Red Hat corporate and sales strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your quantitative analysis skills and develop well-rounded business insight through working with senior leadership.
Primary job responsibilities
Proliferate topline sales performance analytics and streamline reporting process, e.g., establishing a cadence and serving as the go-to associate for revenue, bookings, billings, discounting, linearity, pipeline, and more
Guide cross-functional initiatives with global and regional HR, Finance, and Operations teams to increase predictability of established and new sales success metrics
Establish globally standardized sales productivity metrics by pioneering best practice methodologies to compute key measures and promote adoption of these metrics across regional Sales, Finance, and Operations teams
Provide global thought and operational leadership across diverse functional areas
Partner with shared services analysis team in India to guide net-new analysis requirements and facilitate development of reporting and insights
Make use of a robust internal data science function and bring brand new insight to sales metrics
Develop into a leader in the technology industry by acquiring fluency in the relevant financial management concepts
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a quantitative field; MBA is a plus
Solid relationship management skills
Solid mathematical and analytical skills
3-5 years of related professional experience
Good spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large datasets and performing analysis
Previous experience in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
Good understanding of the Hyperion system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience with analytical tools, e.g., Tableau, QlikView, R, SAS Visual Analytics, etc.
Experience using data mining tools like SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) or SAS
Ability to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand during quarter and year end; this may include weekends)
Coachable, energetic, ambitious, focused, and detail-oriented focused; ability to work as part of a team and diligence in achieving and delivering results
