GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Office Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities in the Office of Facilities and Capital Planning.

Essential duties, include:
Perform office tasks as well as on-site activities;
Use Microsoft Office Suite to prepare various documents;
Assist AVP with on-site project tasks including but not limited to, taking photographs, taking measurements, meeting contractors, communicating with campus faculty/staff or checking on a project for various reasons;
Maintain files for projects and/or budget.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: none

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: directly supervised by AVP

WORKING CONDITIONS: office environment within campus community

Job Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with PC software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Outlook;
Good organizational skills;
Ability to effectively communicate via written and oral communication;
Valid driver's license;
Ability to drive and/or walk to project work sites;
Ability to maneuver safely on work sites;
Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision;
Ability to handle stressful emergency situations;
Ability to work successfully in a diverse community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with OSHA regulations;
Familiarity with administration of construction projects;
Experience in an academic environment.

Additional Information:
This is a part-time, non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. Work hours are negotiable but must include a minimum of 3 weekdays (Monday-Friday) on campus between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The pay rate is $25 per hour.
