We are looking foran experienced mechanical estimator to join our construction team in our market. As Mechanical Estimator, you will prepare plan and spec and design-build style estimates for commercial mechanical systems.

You will:

  • Prepare cost estimates for HVAC systems to include duct work, plumbing and piping systems, and equipment for commercial and residential projects (i.e., installations, retrofits, and equipment replacements).
  • Account for labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs within estimates.
  • Review plans and specifications to determine the scope of work.
  • Perform field surveys for the development of project estimates.
  • Take-off material and provide accurate quantity surveys. Adjust labor production factors based on the degree of difficulty.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Submit proposals to customers, finalize pricing and complete internal setups promptly.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with key owner direct customers, equipment/material suppliers and general contractors, as well as create strong partnerships with select engineers and vendors.

Qualifications:

Minimum High School diploma

Minimum of 10 years of field experience

Must pass drug test

Must participate in the company's drug-free worplace program

Able to read and understand blue prints and specifications

Have proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office

Possess good communication skills with an outgoing personality and a positive attitude

Have a valid Driver's License

Knowledge:

Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of commercial and residential structures.
