This position is responsible for the protection of company assets, the propriety, timeliness and relevance of internal and external financial reporting, the propriety and timeliness of financial analysis, providing leadership, setting direction and managing corporate financial shared services and ensuring that all activities of the corporate finance function are consistent with company goals and strategies, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Providing adequate and cost effective safeguards to company assets, including ensuring the maintenance of internal accounting and management controls, compliance with all relevant company policies, establishment of procedures that provide for the proper valuation and accountability of company assets, compliance with all applicable tax and other laws and regulations to prevent fines, liens or other impairment of company assets, appropriate assistance to management in maintaining cash, controlling expenses and maximizing returns to preserve value of the company and its ability to continue serving patrons, customers and employees.
Insuring the proper, relevant and timely internal and external financial reporting, including constant review, assessment and refinement of such reporting to meet strategic objectives and the ongoing needs of management and all other users, facilitating compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and performing analysis to interpret trends and identify business issues.
Leading continuous improvement of processes and work flows throughout the company as appropriate.
Leading, managing and continually improving the consolidated annual planning and interim forecasting process.
Developing appropriate performance measures and budgets for the corporate finance department and managing against those measures and budgets.
Assisting management and functional areas in achieving goals, executing strategy and meeting business needs through the application of services provided by corporate finance (i.e. general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee payroll and treasury).
Performing, or ensuring adequate performance of cost, profitability and business analysis as directed by management to meet the company’s needs and obtain profitability improvement.
Ensuring that budgets and standards completed as part of the Performance Measurement Process and the related reporting are accurate, relevant and theoretically sound.
Overseeing tactical operations of external auditors, actuaries, financial institutions and property/liability/casualty insurance brokers/carriers.
Ensuring that all tax returns, deposits and filings are completed properly and in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all audits and compliance reporting are completed properly and in a timely manner.
Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.
Timely and accurate completion of duties.
Occasional travel for work, up to 33% of the time.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations relating to operational and financial analysis and apply concepts of dairy manufacturing and related mathematics and statistics.
Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to interpret business needs and understand company operations in a manner that allows effective and relevant completion of cost and financial analysis. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of regulatory and technical information furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. Must have the ability to appropriately apply accounting theory and financial analysis mythology. Must have a fundamental understanding/knowledge of the dairy industry drivers that impact revenues and costs resulting in changes in margins. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills & Abilities: Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of accounting theory and practice, including such specialized areas as internal controls, financial reporting, income tax accounting, credit management and cash management. Must have management and supervisory skills adequate to ensure that all duties and responsibilities of those reporting to this position are understood, properly delegated and adequately and efficiently performed, including facilitating a work atmosphere that promotes goodwill towards others, providing a safe workplace, promoting good employee morale and providing for employees to achieve high job satisfaction through job empowerment, skills improvement and opportunities for workload variety and/or advancement. Physical Demands – Employee is frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, sit; to verbally communicate; and to hear. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a Bachelor Degree in accounting or related field of study, CPA and/or MBA and ten years of job-related experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing an accounting function.
This position will directly supervise Corporate Finance Manager, Corporate Finance Sr. Manager and Baraboo building maintenance personnel. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
