POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Field Technician is a key position responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a range of advanced technology systems, including Point of Sale, digital signage, video walls, audio/visual, surveillance systems, and networking equipment. Special emphasis will be placed on LCD and LED video walls.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and entry-level construction skills. The role requires the ability to work autonomously and effectively manage a team in varied and occasionally demanding settings. The Senior Field Technician must demonstrate a high level of problem-solving proficiency and adaptability to ensure successful project execution and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation & Setup: Lead and oversee the installation of LCD and LED video walls, including mounting, cabling, and configuration. Ensure all setups are completed according to company standards and client specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to LCD and LED video walls, including image quality, connectivity problems, and hardware malfunctions. Provide effective solutions to restore optimal performance.
- Team Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for multiday installations involving multiple technicians. Provide guidance, delegate tasks, and ensure effective collaboration among team members to achieve project goals.
- Basic Construction Tasks: Perform entry-level construction tasks such as assembling and installing brackets, mounts, and other support structures. Assist with minor modifications to existing structures as needed for video wall installations.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repair on existing video walls and related equipment, diagnosing issues accurately and implementing effective solutions.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and guidance to clients and junior technicians, addressing complex issues and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of service activities, including installation, maintenance, and repair tasks. Generate reports on system performance and service outcomes.
- Training & Development: Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices related to video wall technology and installation to enhance team capability and performance.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Implement and promote best practices for safe work environments.
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or queries promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies, particularly in video wall systems, and apply new knowledge to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of LCD and LED video walls, including installation, calibration, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in handling related equipment and software. Advanced knowledge of other technology systems, including Point of Sale, digital signage, video walls, audio/visual, surveillance systems, and networking equipment.
- Must be able to read and interpret architectural plans, schematics, design drawings, technical documents, etc.
- Construction Skills: Entry level construction skills including basic carpentry, framing, and minor structural modifications relevant to video wall installations.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience leading installation projects and managing multiple technicians, with strong organizational and team management capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer focused mindset. Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and maneuver equipment as needed, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., outdoor, confined spaces, high spaces on lifts, scaffolding, and tall ladders). Must be able to sit, kneel, or stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs., and complete repetitive tasks.
- Background check: Must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening, in accordance with state-mandated regulations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a field technician role, with a proven track record of managing complex installations and leading teams.
- Travel is required up to 80% of the time.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in CTS, OSHA 30, N+, A+ are highly desirable. Additional preferred certifications include Cisco, Crestron, Low voltage, Scissor/Boom lift, and forklift.
