Zwick USA is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Service Department at our headquarters outside of Atlanta (Expat assignment of a min. of 2 years).
Reports to: National Service Manager Aufgaben:
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing superior service and support for the installation, calibration, training in the usage of, and repair of Zwick machines.
Use of technical scientific expertise through independent discretion and judgment to develop and implement the design and performance of Zwick machines and testing protocols at specific client locations including to:
Assist clients with formulation of required test methods to conform with client products, client manufacturing processes and market needs for possible use of Zwick machine capabilities
Design, implement, evaluate and adapt test methods to be performed by Zwick machines to comply with international standards and customer needs and requests
Install, calibrate and evaluate Zwick machines to perform designed test methods
Evaluate and re-design test methods and/or Zwick machines that conduct tests to achieve reliable and required testing results
Identify environmental and process causes for any Zwick machine testing failure and design and develop, with the client, solutions including repair of Zwick machines, re-design of Zwick testing methods and/or interfaces of Zwick machines with tested product or energy and support facilities to avoid testing failures or interruptions or to increase reliability of testing results
Machine and application software / Electronics, digital and analog / High-precision electro-mechanical components / Hydraulic systems / Pneumatic systems / Materials science
Efficiently manage own time, scheduling and travel needs for the service, calibration, repair, installation and upgrade of all Zwick machines located in an assigned geographic territory. When requested, complete assignments located outside of assigned geography. Work closely with Service Administrators to achieve the most timely and cost effective performance of assigned duties
Troubleshoot and repair Zwick machines in a timely manner. Take ownership of issue, and by using independent discretion and judgment, implement a quick and complete solution. Minimize call-backs by staying with and solving the problem on the first visit
Provide timely and accurate equipment calibrations to relevant standards and procedures, using the most current test methods / Prepare written reports of calibration results to ISO/IEC 17025, Sec 5.10. / Evaluate the results for test of reasonableness
Perform successful installation of new machines and/or upgrades in a time frame that meets customer expectations.
Develop and design test programs to meet customer and ASTM or ISO requirements. Leave an up-and-running, well trained and satisfied customer upon completion of installation. Work closely with Customer Advocate to ensure all aspects of machine installation are completed as needed, both by the customer and by Zwick.
Build long-term successful relationships with key users, decision-makers, and influencers at existing and potential Zwick customers
Provide a high level of customer training in the operation of Zwick machines, usage of testXpert software, and application of specific test methods. Maintain expertise in test methodology and the application of Zwick technology to solve specific customer needs.
Maintain all Zwick assets, including but not limited to tools, calibration cells, electronics, and company car, so that they are in good operating condition. Obtain timely approval from Service Manager for all needed repairs
Support the quality program through timely and accurate submittal of all service/calibration forms and by participating in accreditation training and programs
Submit all required paperwork including SCRs, Expense Reports, Acceptance Protocols and any other required reporting, on a weekly or even daily basis, as required by the Service Manager
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in an advanced technical or scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience
Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and electromechanical devices from schematic and mechanical drawings
Must be able to meet requirements for accreditation as defined by A2LA and ISO 17025
Strong oral and written communications skills
Strong computer and software skills
Ability to work with high degree of personal discipline
Ability to build relationships and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
Must have a high level of technical troubleshooting and technical problem solving skills
Prior experience with universal destructive testing machines is highly desirable
Willingness to travel domestically up to 80% of the time, depending on the assigned territory
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain automobile/liability coverage
