Factory Motor Parts is looking for an Accounts Receivable Deductions Specialist.
This is an ideal position for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist that enjoys working within a fast-paced, high volume team. The desired individual should be comfortable working independently and having their own responsibilities including interacting with both internal and external customers while managing and reducing deductions on key accounts.
The Accounts Receivable Deductions Specialist will have content expertise in the following areas and will be responsible for the following reporting and communication requirements as deemed appropriate by the Accounts Receivable Manager:
Assist with the deduction management for an assigned portfolio of accounts.
Collect accounts receivable to ensure timely payments from key accounts.
Help insure the integrity of all the accounts receivable systems and processes.
Participate in projects designed to improve accounts receivable processes and/or processes that affect accounts receivable.
Gather supporting documentation and analyze data to determine the appropriate steps to resolve the deduction.
Investigate and resolve disputed amounts on key accounts.
Maintain customer spreadsheets with details of deductions including status.
Assist with the generation of deduction reports for sales and management.
Establish regular communication of appropriate accounts receivable information with the Accounts Receivable Manager.
Effectively communicate accounts receivable information in written or oral formats to all levels of management and the sales team.
Reconcile open invoices and payments, research differences and request paybacks on unauthorized deductions.
Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
Establish and maintain positive relationship/communication with other departments to promote sales growth.
Research and review customer remittances and deductions to assist with accurate cash application to Accounts Receivable system.
Post payments to customer accounts.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS for the Accounts Receivable Deductions Specialist include:
Good knowledge of office procedure and equipment
Advanced knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, working knowledge of Access is a plus
Intermediate PC skills utilizing various software applications and systems
Excellent 10 key skills
Advanced knowledge of accounting and reconciliation skills
Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to multi-task while still detail oriented and self-motivated
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); Associate Degree in Business or Accounting preferred
Five years experience working in Accounts Receivable/Collections/ Deduction Management
An equivalent combination of education and experience
