The System Test Team Leader ensures that business requirements failures are detected during the System test activities, will manage the day-to-day activities of all System Test and Environmental Test (DV/PV) activities on a particular assigned project; this includes task scheduling, resource planning, technical problem resolution, Test strategy development, interfacing to R&D Product Technical Manager and all System Test/DV Engineers involved on the project.
Management of Project Test activities for particular OEM.
Liaise with R&D Product Technical Manager (PTM) to understand the project milestones.
Escalation of issues to projects Test Manager and R&D Product Technical Manager.
Ensure that the Project has sufficient and appropriate test resources for delivery to the customer.
Create timing plans for planning and tracking test progress.
Follow up with Test Engineers to insure Test Specifications are complete for each software release.
Ensure the Test Team follow the System Test process, e.g. correct document/report templates, traceability according to System Requirements and System Architecture requirements.
Follow up with Test Engineers to insure that Scene Viewing HIL, Computer Vision HIL/SIL and DV Test bench development are on track.
Review of Customer Conformity matrix to understand customer deliverable from start of project and express concerns of any test requirements to Project Test Manager.
Ensure test reports (Environmental and System) are submitted on time and in accordance with customer expectations
Review and approval of System Test Specifications.
Review and approval of System Integration Test Specifications.
Review and approval of Test Reports.
Ensuring sufficient test capacity for Internal/External labs, Test Equipment and Test Vehicle availability
Ensure all System Testing and DV testing are complete according to customer expected timelines and highlighting in advance any possible delays.
Participate in project daily and weekly meetings.
Organise daily and weekly meeting with the project test team to review tasks and project millstones etc.
System Test Initiatives
Ensure the development of test environments for new applications are in line with customer expectation.
Involvement with Engineers for innovation and development of alternative test solutions to existing applications e.g. automation development.
Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers, technicians, designers and others who assist in specific assignments.
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates advanced industrial engineering assignments usually associated with design, process improvement and development or manufacturing engineering.
Estimates manpower needs and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
Maintains liaison with various organization units; reviews progress and evaluates results; makes changes in methods, design or equipment where necessary.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered
People management: annual performance appraisals and administrative approvals
Bachelor Degree in Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering required. Advanced Degree Preferred.
Experience in microcontroller or embedded systems required.
ASPICE training an advantage.
Minimum 8 years relevant experience in electronics and/or system design in multifunctional environment
Minimum 4 years of automotive industry experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Confident, articulate, self motivated, determined & energetic. Must be able to engage with customer and build strong relationship.
Self-starter, motivated individual who can work alone, with little supervision.
