The Assistant Director position within Contracting is responsible for daily operation of the contracting system, including front end assistance to stakeholder inquiries, contract review and approval routing, regular communication with general counsel and other needed resources, administrative oversight of institutional contract manager actions, and document execution, archival and distribution. An Analyst reports to this position to assist in the operational duties.
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Strong written and research capabilities to professionally prepare, review, and facilitate preparation of procurement documentation with attention to accuracy, terminology, and specification in accordance with Intuitional and State guidelines.
Strong analytical and computer skills with experience using multiple software applications, using and maintaining a relational database system.
General knowledge of contracting and purchasing procedures in a higher education setting.
Experience and knowledge working with Microsoft Office Applications - specifically Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
Experience in solicitation and contract development, bid analysis, cost avoidance, contract review and supplier selection and management.
