Aetna Better Health of West Virginia is hiring a Community Development Coordinator. A unique, career opportunity to travel in an established territory promoting general wellness and the benefits of Aetna Better Health to Medicaid populations. The multi-county territory covers the northern portion of West Virginia. This would include both the Northern and Eastern panhandles. A company vehicle is provided.

Counties this position will service are: Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Ritchie, Pleasants, Tyler, Doddridge, Wetzel, Lewis, Harrison, Upshur, Barbour, Taylor, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Tucker, Grant, Mineral, Hardy, Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson

Candidate should reside in one of these counties to be considered given the territory.

Develops, facilitates, and implements outreach activities, special events, programs, and presentations to increase awareness of the health plans presence in the community. Seeks out and secures event sponsorship. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community contacts.

Fundamental Components:
(*) A self-starter that desires to be part of the Aetna Better Health of West Virginia community development team.
(*) Responsible for event logistics including reserving space, catering, communication, distributing materials, facilities support, and other similar activities. Monitors and/or participates in the preparation and tear down for the event.
(*) Manages on-site event staffing and handles any problems or emergencies that may arise. Acts as contact for all sponsors and event providers.
(*) Assures proper documentation for membership and leader driven activities and events.
(*) Gives individual or group presentations to potential sponsors and members.
(*) May conduct new member orientations and lead generating events and activities.
(*) Provides recommendations and status updates to the department management team as required.
(*) Produces and maintains a community events calendar to assist the department with community and member awareness.
(*) Strives for overall membership growth within the plan.
(*) Establishes new contacts within the territory that they serve, while maintain those who have an established relationship with the plan.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
(*) 3-5 years customer service experience.
(*) Previous experience working with the Medicaid or Medicare population preferred.
(*) Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Able to present information to a variety of audiences.
(*) Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
(*) Ability to work independently and travel alone.
(*) Valid drivers license in good standing.
(*) Must maintain established relationships with community organizations, agencies and individuals, as well as cultivating new partnerships.
(*) Proficiency with standard corporate software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as some special proprietary applications.
(*) Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and off-shifts as required.
(*) Some overnight travel may be required.

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
