The Executive Recruiter will be responsible for senior level recruiting for a variety of positions. Under the direction of the Chief Talent & HR Officer, the Executive Recruiter will partner directly with our executive leadership team to develop innovative candidate sourcing, plans and best practice recruitment strategies.
Work with leadership, hiring managers and search committees throughout the selection and hiring process.
Full life cycle executive recruitment which includes sourcing, screening, evaluating and recommending candidates, managing the entire process from interviewer recommendations, reference checks, offer preparation and negotiation, and onboarding. Focus on continuous improvement and ensure the optimal candidate experience to attract world-class Administrators and Faculty.
Identify, build, foster and leverage a network of organizations, including professional associates, conferences, referrals, doctoral programs, and other sourcing strategies, which produce quality candidates. Build networks to expand qualified, diverse, passive candidates in advance of need.
Create targeted sourcing strategies for executive positions; conduct industry and candidate prospect research; identify and utilize multiple recruitment sources including cold calls to identify qualified and interested candidates.
Provide clear communication to stakeholders regarding the status of recruitment initiatives. Facilitate and conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and the implementation.
Facilitate requests for prospective candidates requesting H1B visa, or citizen sponsorship as needed
Conduct administrative tasks to include drafting position descriptions, candidate profiles and reference summaries, maintaining records, manage search requisitions, coordinate candidate travel schedules, and work on projects as assigned.
Maintain and manage the processes related to LIU’s applicant tracking system and employment management portal.
Track recruitment metrics to continually evaluate and refine search methods.
Education & Experience Requirements
Successful candidate should be tech savvy, experienced, highly motivated and results oriented. In addition, the following qualifications are required to successfully execute the duties for this role:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree and 3+ years of progressive recruiting experience – retained or contingency search is a plus; Successful experience in recruiting, hiring and onboarding senior level professional and executive roles. Prior faculty and administrative recruitment experience in Higher Education strongly preferred.
Strong communication, organization, time management and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests from different sources is required.
- Excellent networking skills for candidate development purposes.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude.
- Proficiency in MS suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT); Experience using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms to identify and recruit top tier candidates.
