What you’ll be doing...

As part of the Network Planning organization, you will be coordinating the engagement of cross-functional teams in various Industry Groups and supporting the collaboration and communication needs of related technology initiatives. The Program Manager will be responsible for the tactical alignment and coordination of activities that create the “Verizon Voice” in Technical Standards bodies.

This unique role will help develop and maintain the methods for sharing representative input and feedback to the larger team. By using Project Management tools and a Program management mindset, you would provide back office support and coordination of our cross-functional strategy and alignment of technology initiatives for Network Planning and GN&T. With our focus on preparing 4G and 5G networks to support and meet next generation feature requirements and performance, you will be responsible for driving collaboration on Verizon priorities, strategic interests and objectives across multiple internal teams. You’ll gain exposure to several Industry Groups and Standards Bodies to understand their work scope and engagement models. You’ll need to analyze E2E architecture and systems to understand strategic implications and capabilities that can be obtained by having our SMEs participate in appropriate Industry Groups and Consortium.

What we’re looking for...

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:
A degree
Demonstrated experience with Project and Program Management and a proven track record of successful project execution. 3+ years’ experience in managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide projects.
Extensive JIRA and Confluence expertise – Including advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies as it relates to project management. Applicable experience creating and managing projects in JIRA, Confluence, and leveraging Google tools and web-based interfaces.
Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills - the selected candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills including: Communicating - written, oral, listening, speaking, internal/external, formal/informal, vertical/horizontal; Negotiating – reaching agreements; Problem Solving – problem definition and decision making; Influencing – getting things done.
Candidates must have the knowledge to understand a project’s technical breadth and be familiar with a variety of VZ Network concepts, best practices, procedures and organizational roles.
Knowledge of Industry Groups and Technical Standards Bodies is a plus.
