Faculty for Pharmaceutical Sciences
The faculty member will serve in the department of pharmaceutical sciences position in Kingsville and/or College Station. Faculty rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities would include significant contributions to research in the department related to one or multiple broader areas of biomedical, pharmaceutical, or related areas. T eaching/assisting in courses as per the needs of the College in the delivery of its professional pharmacy and graduate curriculum, mentoring and advising of students and postdocs ; and establishing a positive and supportive environment conducive to enhance research endeavor and funding successes will also be part of job responsibilities. Current research in the department with potential for collaboration include; drug delivery and formulations, cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, infectious disease, and pain management research. Faculty members are expected to utilize and/or add to the established research resources of the department. This position will also include duties related to graduate and Pharm.D. programatic assessment.
The successful candidate will have substantial opportunities to engage in collaborative research and contribute to enhance the research portfolio and the service mission of the College and the Texas A&M University. Faculty members will have access to generous start-up funds and opportunities for conducting applied and contract research. Successful candidates should have earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical and/or Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field with productive research experience as reflected by established research with externally funded grants commensurate with the rank applied. The position provides opportunities for individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career with emphasis on research, instruction, and service. The successful candidate should have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience, previous experience teaching and a track record of effective scholarship and research interests that complement the strengths of the College will be given preference.
