How You'll Make a Difference:
The Clinical Product Specialist is integrated with Supply Chain?s Strategic Sourcing team to enhance the direct involvement and support of clinical staff in the value analysis process in order to improve the outcomes of product selection, evaluation, use and implementation across Advocate Aurora Health. The Clinical Product Specialist is responsible for working with the Corporate Supply Chain staff, Value Analysis Teams, and Hospitals to ensure that the strategic vision of the organization is supported through evidence based evaluation of clinical supply quality, contract compliance, standardization, and supply chain cost containment.
Facilitates clinically focused, financially responsible product evaluations and selection processes to drive informed decisions.
Increases physician, clinical leaders, and staff participation in Strategic Sourcing initiatives.
Represents assigned service line(s) / categories for Value Analysis activities across the organization; provides guidance for product evaluations, cost containment, reimbursement, contract compliance, standardization and utilization efforts.
Prioritizes and coordinates all recommendations for additions, deletions, changes, standardization, and use of products and services.
Assists with product and service conversion activities.
Ensures that products, services and systems selected comply with established corporate and hospital policies, procedures, and end user requirements.
Stays current on assigned service line and category related market conditions, new products, technology and changes; educates physicians, clinical leaders and staff on changes.
Provides clinical expertise and support to Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing team; assists with backorders and product substitution situations.
Develops and implements consistent tools and processes to communicate and measure Value Analysis activities across the organization.
Assists with vendor and supplier management.
What it Will Take:
Licenses & Certifications
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical, Value Analysis, or supply chain.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong working knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, technology, and services; must have basic understanding of healthcare value analysis and strategic sourcing.Has the ability to create and support strategies to bring non-contracted products and services under contract and assuring best contract coverage for assigned categories.Strength in working closely with service line leaders to identify category strategy, including standardization opportunities and product/service evaluations.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize varying workload.Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
8-5 M-F. Position available to office in either Downers Grove, IL or Milwaukee, WI locations.
