Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group is actively seeking a Front Office Coordinator to practice out of our OB/GYN office in Newport News. Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) includes more than 220 primary care, specialty physicians and advanced practice clinicians in more than 75 locations throughout southeastern Virginia. The schedule is full time work hours, Monday through Friday.

Position Summary
The Front Office Coordinator assists with the overall functions in the office and gives direction to staff under the supervision of the office manager. Candidate must have strong organizational skills, be customer service-oriented, have excellent time management, be efficient in computer operation and maintain confidentiality.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for training new front office staff.
Implement efficient front office procedures as needed.
Act as a liaison between the physicians and office manager and clinical staff.
First point of contact to resolve patient complaints received.
Appointment scheduler on multiple telephone line system.
Check in patients for appointments and checking out patients at the end of appointments.
Collect copays and balances.
Greet and assist efficiently and professionally patients and other customers that present to the practice with business other than appointments.
Function in a multi-disciplinary environment, which requires the application of excellent customer service skills.
Order office supplies.*
Complete Delinquent Report in a timely manner.*
Verify benefits for in office procedures.*
Run front desk reports.*
Delegate duties to front office staff accordingly.*
Implement front office procedures*
Approve PTO requests.*
Manage provider schedules.*
Perform other duties as requested by the Office Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
Knowledge of office equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports, and correspondence.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
Pays strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Ability to present information in an organized manner.
