Position Summary:
The Underground Foreman oversees all construction activities of a crew involved in the installation, construction, maintenance and repair of underground utility infrastructure.

Ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge of work practices related to the utility construction field to support underground construction.

Primary Outcomes:
Lead, teach, and guide members of crew ensuring a focus on safety, compliance with established project plans, efficiency and cost management.
Organizes and monitors the work of all crew personnel for timely job completion; direct day-to-day field operations, providing the necessary technical guidance, leadership and quality inspections of crew.
Responsible for strict compliance of company safety policies and procedures, including proactive involvement with safety meetings, assistance in the investigation of claims, communication of lessons learned to crews and various training programs designed to improve overall safety performance.
Ensure field paperwork including daily work reports (DWR’s), DOT trip sheets, daily job briefs, change orders, equipment maintenance and/ or tool requests are accurately completed and submitted on time.
Actively participate in Pre-job and in-progress jobs meetings with Area Manager, Estimators and Project Administrators.
Coordinate the effective use of fleet and tools within the operating unit, working closely with area Fleet Manager and Tool Manager.

High School Diploma, (4 year post-secondary education preferred), or equivalent work experience in Utility Construction field.
3 years’ relevant Construction field experience.
Experience in overseeing construction activities and strong knowledge of construction and utility industry practices.
Advanced technical knowledge with underground utility construction and experience supervising construction activities
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) preferred and/or ability to obtain one within an agreed upon timeframe.
