Vykin Corporation’s MPE-ES Systems Engineering team creates compute and storage server designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable and resilient and support USINDOPACOMS’s mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our engineers solve challenging technical problems with architecturally-unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every piece of server hardware in our catalog is healthy and manageable and builds software that interfaces with hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced Systems Design and Development Engineers to build the next generation of our cloud platforms.
As a senior member of the Systems Engineering team you will provide technology leadership and be responsible for leading the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners. You will work closely with our mission partners to understand their operational objectives and help define technical product requirements. You will interact with engineers and mission stakeholders across the DoD and work with an interdisciplinary team to execute design, test, certification and integration into final products and spearhead product deployments to datacenters around the world.

Private cloud IT services represent the majority of growth in the overall IT services market and will continue to do so for several years to come. You will work directly with engineers and product owners across the company to build and improve next-generation data center infrastructure. DoD IAT Level II certified.
BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications.
Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work independently with very minimal supervision and guidance to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Experience taking products from concepts to mass production.
Experience with technical project management.
Willingness and ability to ingest new technologies at blazing speed.
Ability to prioritize multiple assigned tasks and execute parallel tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to find, implement and use a variety of open source or commercial technologies and tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Expert level knowledge with VMware products (vCenter Server, ESXi, etc.).
Expertise in both Windows and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) environments.
Experience with Microsoft enterprise services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy management).
Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies (VMware Horizon View).
Working knowledge of Datacenter hardware and software installations, upgrades, migrations, and OS/Firmware patching.
Knowledge of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure technologies (Nutanix/Cisco Hyperflex) is a plus.
Working knowledge/understanding of networking (Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, F5).
Basic knowledge of supporting SQL databases.
Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Minimum o f eight (8) years of experience in hardware system architecture design.
Industry certifications (MCSA, MCSE, VCA, VCP, RHCSA, RHCE, CCNA, CCNP).
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, .NET, C#, Java).
Experience with server validation and conducting root cause analysis.
Extensive knowledge of data center infrastructure constraints to include but not limited to networking, power, space, and cooling.
Develop functional specifications, hardware architecture specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to rigorous testing practices and design process flows.
Demonstrated ability to engage technology developers in the industry to track and apply emerging technologies to innovative server designs.
The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Oahu, HI supporting a DoD customer. The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
