Under general supervision, the Justice Court Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties and provides administrative support to the Harris County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3, Place 1.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Enters information into Harris County Odyssey computer system.
Answers phones and directs calls where appropriate.
Performs data entry and filing.
Works well with the public.
Handles and balances money daily.
Updates and scans case records.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution; and
A minimum of two (2) years of civil court clerk work experience, including familiarity with the court system and customer service.
Basic knowledge of Texas Civil Statutes.
Working knowledge of Odyssey Case Manager.
Excellent customer service skills, and ability to work well with other staff and the public.
Must be punctual, dependable and have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, remain calm and handle stressful situations.

Experience working in a County Clerk's or District Clerk's Office.
Familiar with Harris County's Justice Information Management System (J.I.M.S.) computer systems.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Monday - Friday / 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
