What We’re Looking For:
The creative team is looking for a talented and motivated photographer to join our growing team. This position will report to the multimedia manager on the creative team and support all 2U partner programs.
The photographer is responsible for various types of projects, including: large-scale staged vignettes that simulate the student or work experience, candid shots of graduations and conferences, campus beauty, cinemagraphs/GIFs for social media campaigns, etc. Ultimately, the photographer should be able to utilize all aspects of photography (equipment, light, color, emotion, props, etc.) to tell a story and create effective assets.
The creative team is a collection of highly energetic and ambitious individuals who are dedicated to producing the highest quality marketing communications. As a busy department within 2U’s larger brand marketing team, the creative team is responsible for producing all branded creative assets across the company.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
Serving as a creative photography expert for the 2U marketing team.
Collaborating with stakeholders and the multimedia pre-producer to plan, organize and produce all necessary elements of small and large shoots.
Brainstorming shot lists for photographic and occasional video opportunities.
Creating compelling imagery for social channels, advertising, websites and emails.
Photographing immersions, graduations and other university partner events, as well as 2U events and company culture.
Following standards for exporting/converting files to various formats while maintaining an organized system.
Working from a creative brief to grasp the client’s needs and specifications.
Maintaining the visual brand identities and content strategies of our partner brands.
Continuously discovering and implementing new technologies such as producing animated photography (cinemagraphs, 2.5D and GIFs for social media).
Learning and implementing industry best practices to maximize quality and efficiency;
Managing multiple projects and remaining flexible through revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail.
Collaborating with other members of the multimedia team, the creative team (writers, designers and production artists) and stakeholders across the marketing org to create the best and most successful assets possible.
Assisting on video shoots and interviews as an artistic consultant to the filmmakers.
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 4-6 years of industry experience
Ability to see a photoshoot through from the initial brainstorming phase to delivering a tightly edited and on-brand final product
A complete understanding of all components of planning and organizing a photoshoot
The ability to maintain a budget for your photoshoots
Strong editing abilities to enhance color, design and brand imagery
A thorough knowledge of equipment for all types of shoots
Excel in photographic knowledge and concepts
Strong planning and organizational skills
Proficient studio/field/documentary skills
Proficient experience with digital technology and editing software packages (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Color Correction for video, etc.)
Strong visual shot composition
Proficient lighting and grip equipment knowledge
Experience with different Digital SLR formats
Creative mind and storytelling skills
The ability to work collaboratively and be open to feedback and art direction
Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking and organization skills
Ability to meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders about process and work status
Thoroughly understand different types of photography such as portraits, campus and events and have an understanding of how to shoot for different applications (web/email/social)
