RN Shift Supervisor Position Summary
The RN Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading our clinical team on the unit. Their leadership role includes the following responsibilities:
- Manage the nursing care for all residents and delegate shift tasks to nurses.
- Supervise nurse aides as they complete their assignments.
- Observe residents’ conditions, oversee, and respond as necessary.
- Inform physicians of any changes in resident conditions.
- Communicate with patients, family members, and the interdisciplinary team about care plan changes.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.

- Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
RN Shift Supervisor Requirements
- Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
