The Network Specialist is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the District's network infrastructure and managing network projects as assigned. Primary responsibilities include general support of our community, changes to network configurations to support new services, and immediate response to critical issues (classroom services failures, WiFi connectivity issues, or any loss of service that affect student education and staff workflows). The proper candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of network infrastructure design, routing protocols, data security, and the ability to create detailed documentation. It is required that applicants have a background supporting Cisco technologies. This is a team environment where the candidate will be cross-trained or/and train other members of the department to create a high level of support for our community. The position reports to the Director ofInformation Technology Services.

Education and/or Experience
This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience with LAN and WAN networking protocols and devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points. Certifications in related fields (Cisco, VMware, Microsoft,) preferred. Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SolarWinds) strongly preferred.
