Job Description

The Construction Manager is responsible for reviewing the designs of the construction sites and the documents related to the project, schedule the construction progress meetings and evaluate the construction progress of a site. This candidate will supervise field administrative staff, Project Coordinators, Craft/Trade labor, Assistant Construction Managers, and other project staff as assigned. Responsible for approving change in orders, invoices and various payments that would include in the final payment. May also provide technical advice in regards to the design of the building structures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides construction management services on public building projects
Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements for public building projects
Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction
Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
Provides management of project logistics, organization and safety
Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including closeout requirements
Performs other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required
Approximately fifteen (15) years of experience working on the construction of security operation centers, emergency operation centers, rail and bus operations centers; or projects of similar size ($90M-$120M), scope, and complexity
Approximately five (5) years of experience with LEED Gold
Experience with BIM Model on projects of similar scope, size, and complexity
Experience working on low voltage systems
Experience should include continuous responsibility (from initiation of the engineering phase through final design completion) on at least one design-build project with a similar level of complexity to this project. The experience must include interfacing with state and local jurisdictions as well as familiarity with the all applicable codes.
Must be a professional engineer, licensed and registered in the State of California, by date of Notice to Proceed
