Field Service Instrumentation Technician
Job Summary
Vector Controls and Automation Group is seeking an Instrumentation / Calibration Technician to perform service related work in the Houston, TX area. The candidate will be required to live in the area. The candidate will be required to provide installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation, controls and analyzers. There will also be interaction with the customer on many levels (i.e., operations, maintenance, planning, environmental health & safety, and engineering). The ideal candidate will provide expertise to ensure that the products perform and meet customer expectations. The candidate will also be required to follow all customer and Vector Controls safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Start Up and Commissioning and Troubleshooting of Instrumentation
- Multiple Trips required a Month. Travel 70%
- Operate a program that focuses on personal and process safety (Zero accidents, releases, or process down time).
- Maintain an open communication with customer.
- Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call pool with other Technicians as scheduled by the Service Manager
- Maintain 100% compliance with all Vector CAG and customer site specific training.
- Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) work orders as scheduled.
- Provide subject matter expertise to customer for any Flow, Pressure, Temp, Valves, pH, conductivity, or other Instrumentation and analytical issues that may be presented.
Qualifications and Skills
- Min 5 years Plant Maintenance or on-demand field service experience required
- Knowledge of Endress + Hauser Product Line preferred
- Computer skills (i.e. MS Office Suite)
- Ability to work with minimal oversight
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to rotate “On-Call” responsibilities
- Knowledge of electronics, process diagrams (loop and data sheets), and test equipment (multi-meters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Knowledge of Valves and Instrumentation. Analytical, pneumatic, electronic and smart.
- Associate's degree in Instrumentation Technology or a technical degree with at least 5+ years in process instrumentation equipment installation maintenance / troubleshooting
