Missions :

The Manager of the Boutique is responsible:

  • For the conception and implementation of strategic projects/ areas of improvement by integrating :
  • develop the sales and performance of the boutique to achieve the weekly, monthly and annual sales goals set forth by the Country Manager
  • the necessary to develop a commercial approach and sales mind-set
  • attention paid to every detail and excellence that the luxury positioning of LMDC requires
  • Clear approach to define common actions/tools where appropriate and to follow all reporting with regards to sales performance and KPI etc….
  • develop the corporate business of the boutique with the neighbouring brands and companies and work closely with the corporate department
  • For the development of a strategy, contents and implementation of sales and staff training
  • Increase sales and profitability of the LMDC boutique, in collaboration with the Zone Director and Retail manager.
  • Conduct all tasks as required by Management

Work place: Rockefeller Center boutique

Reporting to: Country Manager

Other responsibilities in addition to Sales Management:

  • Sales Management and achieving goals
  • Motivating and working with sales team – Conduct Daily Briefing
  • Properly following of documentation to be completed for new hires and training
  • Following all HR policies and overall all policies set forth in Employee Handbook of LMDC
  • Preparation of staff work schedules and reporting to accounting office
  • Staff annual performance reviews
  • Approving of all boutique related incoming invoices and timely submission to accounting for payment
  • Merchandising and up keep of boutique by following rules set forth by the Marketing Department in Paris
  • Proper presentation of the boutique as per the LMDC codes
  • Boutique product orders and presentation of products
  • Monthly and annual inventory
  • Make sure inventory levels in boutique are optimized and maintained to avoid any out of stock issues, minimize waste
  • Quality audits (monthly)
  • Following all hygiene rules set forth by Quality Department in Paris
  • Daily reporting of sales to accounting office
  • Preparation of Action Plans and KPIs
  • Properly following of documentation to be completed for new hires and training
  • Pastry Production
  • Maintenance and up-keep of boutique
  • Adhere to all policies and make sure systems are used properly to reflect accurate sales data

Responsibilities:

  • Define and explain the commercial strategy of the boutique
  • Commercial policy: from the welcome to overall client experience in the boutique, operations to increase foot traffic, collaborate with other luxury brands
  • To ensure, by using different approaches, commercial spirit is developed and the standards for luxury are well integrated and followed by staff
  • Define, structure, manage and implement the project/tools for improving sales, profitability and boutique operations by :
  • The increase of boutique sales : events and creative operations
  • Ideas to increase foot traffic and the average tickets
  • Attention to the sales numbers and forecasts (following the measures for sales development)
  • Profitability (losses/ forecasts/taking orders, optimisation of payroll)
  • Organisation of operations and productivity to maximise the conversion rate
  • Setting an example for the boutique staff by working with them and leading them (ex.: training of Assistant Manager and put in place contests to motivate and team training)
  • Image (boutique upkeep, compliance with the standards for a luxury boutique and all within the defined codes of La Maison du Chocolat)
  • Respect the rules for safety and hygiene
  • Propose and commit to achieving the weekly, monthly and annual sales budget/forecasts and define the timeline with the staff
  • Complete, follow up, prepare and manage the boutique action plans and KPI reports
  • Report quarterly on the progress of the action plans and KPI reports to the Retail Manager
  • Guide and motivate to reach the sales objectives :
  • Analyse activity of the boutique with different indicators for defined sales and profitability performance and breathe new life into improvement tactics
  • Follow up, support the implementation of action plans with designated the team
  • Supervise the organisation and the day to day operations of the boutique (staffing, schedules, sales, customer service issues, merchandising, increasing the Chocolate Circle membership, develop corporate sales of the boutique, product orders, monthly inventory, daily and monthly sales reports, monthly quality audits all respecting deadlines and timely reporting…)
  • Oversee the assortments and product collections of the boutique as per standards and rules set forth. Inform Retail Manager and Logistics manager of any needs
  • Consolidate sales forecasts in particular for seasonal products
  • Work with Retail Manager to define the process and better performance tools
  • Support and the development of the staff : Sales team
  • Define with each individual staff member development objectives (2 annual performance reviews conducted with assistant manager and sales staff as well as chefs)
  • Recruit, onboard, train and evaluate new hires
  • Follow up, support the achievement of the objectives given to the direct reports
  • Encourage, listen to the Boutique Staff
  • Hold short daily meetings with staff discussing the daily forecast and informing them of any news, product launch etc….
  • Conduct refresher training for staff members to keep their knowledge up to date
  • Be the advocate for the appearance of the boutiques, complying with:
  • Visual merchandising rules set forth by Marketing Department
  • Merchandising positioning (showcase product assortments/product universe)
  • Daily and long term appearance and maintenance of the boutiques
  • The demands of excellence to the visual details and service demanded by luxury positioning with the codes of La Maison du Chocolat
  • Be the advocate for compliance of hygiene, and safety rules, internal procedures and application of local laws by distributing information and training/awareness by the staff
  • Be mindful/ consolidate information concerning actions, events and business activity of the competition or other commercial partners
  • Be flexible working weekends as necessary, and extended hours especially during Holidays Season
