Job Summary:
The Controller's primary focus is on the implementation, monitoring, and control of all accounting and accounts payable functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential:
-
Supervise and develop the Accounting Manager and the Accounts Payable Manager. Assign and monitors tasks, review work for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency and provide training and/or enhancements as necessary.
- Ensure daily and monthly task list are completed timely and accurately. Tasks include journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and financial statements. Manage all general ledger functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Review institutional internal controls for consistency and effectiveness. Monitor and modify as needed. Enhance overall effectiveness of the Office of Financial Affairs by developing, implementing, and maintaining systems. Research and recommend technology enhancements as needed.
- Serve as a resource to the community on financial matters and offer training and education to the Regis Community. Ensure that Student Accounts, Payroll and Advancement activities (in subledgers) are reconciled to general ledger.
- Evaluate current policies, processes and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and prepare external compliance requirements and reporting.
- Serve as primary liaison for the annual audit.
- Responsible for the preparation of the IRS Form 990.
- Serve as line of authority in the absence of the Associate Vice President of Financial Affairs and assist Associate Vice President on various special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
-
Bachelor's degree, from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Master's or other advanced degree preferred.
- CPA licensure required.
Experience:
-
Minimum of five years of supervisory or exempt level experience in related environment.

Minimum of six years of professional accounting experience.
- Public and/or non-profit and/or higher education accounting experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Some local, regional, and/or national travel is required.

Pay Rate:
$100,000 - $120,000 /annually commensurate with qualifications.
