We are looking for a Senior Developer Analyst to join us in building a state-of-the-art investment platform that will cater to our investment teams to manage portfolios across multiple asset classes and multiple strategies. The Developer will be building and supporting core data needs for investment management platform and will ideally have strong Python and Database development experience .
Prior experience or domain knowledge of the financial industry is highly preferred, and a keen willingness to learn and explore new business and technical concepts is an absolute must.
This position will be based in New York City. The location is flexible if the candidate possesses the right skillset.

What are the key Responsibilities & Duties?
Work with key stakeholders including research analysts, portfolio managers, and other key stakeholders to understand data needs, identify opportunities and develop solutions.
Partner with team members, SME’s and other partners to understand and solve the data needs for the investment platform and ensure scalability and adaptability of design.
Architect, design and implement solutions for ingestion of large volumes of proprietary and non-proprietary vendor data.
Model, design and develop high performance data storages for large time series data sets and unstructured data sets optimized for high performance retrieval.
Develop dashboards and notification framework to ensure data quality and design interfaces to manage the data.
Build data access interfaces using existing FT’s frameworks and API layers that support critical operational and analytical needs of the investment platform used by Research, portfolio managers and other clients.
Act as a Point of contact for technical issues, creating documentation and monitoring service levels.
Leverage visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to develop interfaces for interactive data exploration and decision support.
Lead and guide support analysts in RCA of investment platform data related issues.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
BS (or higher) in Computer Science (or related field)
10+ years of hands-on coding and data management experience
2+ years of hands-on financial data management experience
Strong coding skills in Python, SQL, NOSQL.
Experience developing data access API’s and frameworks for performant and consistent access of data.
Experience with data store designs and optimization . Experience with Postgres preferred.
Knowledge of various data stores (RDBMS, document stores, column stores etc.) and their relative suitability for various use cases.
Knowledge of cloud (AWS and/or Azure) services is desirable.
Experience or knowledge of web frameworks and technologies like React, Kafka and Kubernetes preferred.
Capital Markets experience is highly desirable
