The Systems Engineer is responsible for the overall design of material handling systems in locations around the world. Our markets are in Parcel Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation Systems, and Airport Baggage Handling Systems. These vertical markets require understanding of advanced material handling systems, controls technology platforms, information technology platforms, and security system platforms within these vertical markets.

As an energetic leader, you utilize your industry & business experience to influence our corporate offerings. You will collaborate with our Sales, Operations and R&D teams, where you focus on translating business requirements into design of products, concepts and applications. Your technology view will remain guided by commercial realities within our vertical markets, while being mindful of practical implementation in our customer environments. You report directly to the Director, Systems Engineering.

Your Role

You will strike the balance in the organization, ensuring that we push cutting edge innovation, while ensuring profitability over the long term.
Lead the conceptual development in emerging material handling system technologies.
Conceptualize improvements in system design that can enhance quality and performance, or reduce costs and/or risks within existing technologies.
Utilize standard engineering principles and new approaches to resolve difficult problems from concept to final design. You will play in integral role in solving the complex challenges faced in programs and projects.
Provide advice in determining the technical development of market segments and associated products; interface with Market Directors and R&D to ensure alignment on customer requirements; provide input to the corporate technology roadmap as required.
Identify potential new business growth sectors and strategic business development partners.
Develop relationships with key customers at executive levels, influencing strategic decisions on their business.
Build relationships with key customer decision makers at tactical level, in collaboration with Business Development Management.
Generate enterprise opportunities by persuading customers to improve their business processes.

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
3-7 years of experience working with the application of MH equipment
Demonstrate understanding of cost calculations and financial projections for concepts
Demonstrate knowledge of control systems and IT integration, for internal and external decision makers
Strong personal networking and relationship management skills – a leader in this category
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple team based tasks within a matrix management environment
Strong presentation skills – ability to control the room. Demonstrate the capability to change the opinions of others via the combination of your knowledge and persuasiveness.
Highly influential and convincing at the executive level, both internally and towards customers.
Ability to influence and motivate various stakeholders to action.
Experience working in a dynamic team based sales environment.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
International travel is required.
