Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will serve as a strategic thought partner to the finance team to ensure that the organization's financial vision is implemented promptly and efficiently. As the company grows and adds to the team, this role will be ever-changing and require the candidate to be flexible and open-minded while being detail-oriented and capable of helping create account processes for a fast-growing company. The Manager will have responsibilities, including oversight of the multi-entity monthly close process, financial reporting, receipts and disbursements, annual audits, banking, and expense allocations. The position will also be integral in system implementations and identifying strategies to modernize the accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual-end process for financial statements – including streamlining the reporting cycle.
- Has excellent knowledge and implementation of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
- Ensure financial books and records are accurate and complete.
- Experience with financial reporting design and preparation.
- Assist in developing and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate on physical inventory counts across all locations
- Oversee entire disbursements cycle.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of sales and commercial rent tax returns.
- Support the preparation for, and undergoing, annual audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department leads.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Having a sense of ownership in your work and being at ease with ambiguity.
- Adept at organization and prioritization, a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- High standard of integrity and confidentiality, with professional attitude and reliable
- Advanced problem-solving abilities, experience researching and resolving complex issues and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
- Qualified candidates should have approximately 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
