Canvas is a Series A stage startup bringing automation to the construction industry as a tech-enabled subcontractor. Our mission is to leverage technology to empower trade workers to be dramatically more productive and free from repetitive, physically taxing, and dangerous tasks. Our small but growing team has spent the past two years engineering and developing a brand new type of machine and are now deploying on commercial job sites. We are now ready to scale.

We are looking for a Business Development Lead to grow our relationship with existing customers and nurture relationships with new ones. You should also anticipate deep involvement in creating and executing business strategy as well as fundraising-related efforts. This is an ideal position for if you are scalable and want first-hand experience with a startup with strong forward momentum.
Track bid volume, lead conversion rate and cost to acquire new business
Determine best sales strategy to generate a diversified backlog of contracts of varying time, size and scope to optimize for utilization
Generate collateral such as customer decks
Develop and maintain partnerships with subcontractors, general contractors, owner-operators and developers
Develop and evaluate growing pipeline of leads and support contract negotiations
Support our field ops team to ensure that customer feels we over-deliver on every job
Support the development and execution of content marketing strategy
Desired Skills & Experience
5-7 years of experience working in a business development role
Deep understanding of business models and motivations well as traditional enterprise experience a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-focused industry is a must.
Track record of solution selling and successful negotiation of business contracts.
Strong business acumen and a genuine passion to drive partnerships that yield strong business results.
A strategic thinker with a problem-solving attitude and the ability to find creative ways to prioritize, and execute upon complex initiatives.
Ability and willingness to learn: Robotics, construction, industry verticals, and new business models.
