This position is primarily responsible for financial analyses, profitability and decision support related functions within the Budget, Reimbursement and Financial Planning Department with a focus on supporting the Medical Group and Family Medicine service lines.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts profitability studies of existing Christiana Care operations
Develops business plans for new program initiatives
Develops financial projections for incorporation into Certificate of Public Review applications
Evaluates the patient charge structure in relationship to the costs of delivering the services
Prepares profitability analyses of the Christiana Care service lines; specifically Primary Care and Medical group
Shares departmental responsibility in monitoring third party reimbursements and the development of third party cost reports
Assists departmental management with budget and cost accounting system related functions
Works in collaboration to support the organizational budget process. This includes but is not limited to planning, training, implementing, and analyzing operational and capital budgets within the system.
Assists in departmental opportunity analysis to support organizational initiatives and priorities.
Performs special projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. in Accounting or Finance;
MBA with Healthcare Concentration or MHA highly valued
Three to five years' experience in healthcare budgeting, cost and reimbursement, and/or consulting attained in a hospital or intermediary setting. Physician Practice experience highly valued
