Job Description

This Physical Therapist will work with Sports and Orthopedic patients at our Park City Clinic. To be succesful in this role, incumbent will have completed a Sports Residency, and be working towards (or have obtained) their SCS through APTA.

This position functions in a combined leadership and clinical role in providing the creation and implementation of Physical Therapy Service's vision and direction, while providing direct patient care and managing patient care teams.

Essential Job Duties

Leadership accountability: Provides clinical expertise and leadership for specialty department/clinical programs. Assists in the development and improvement of care process models. Fosters and promotes interdisciplinary care. Physical Therapist may be specialized in a specific identified area.
Patient Care: Functions as outlined by the Physical Therapist responsibilities while providing direct patient care and oversight of patient care teams. Maintains appropriate documentation for each patient in a complete, thorough, and timely manner in accordance with regulatory, facility, and department requirements. May assist in preparing patient billing in an accurate and timely manner.
Staff accountability: Provides and directs learning opportunities for staff. Develops and ensures staff competency while clarifying clinical roles within the department. May assist in the management of staff consisting of but not limited to recruiting, hiring, termination, yearly evaluation assessments, and scheduling.
Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of approved business plans. Facilitate regular meetings to ensure projected goals and productivity measures are appropriate; making any necessary adjustments in the business plan as needed.
Equipment: Participates in the development of capital budgets in requesting and obtaining the necessary equipment for the overall functionality of Physical Therapy services. May order supplies for daily clinical operations.
Communication: Communicates regularly with other team members regarding research and best practice. Communicates with manager/director regarding clinical program's progress, problems, and strategic plans. Communicates with management team to update and coordinate program activities.
Marketing: Participates in the development and implementation of established marketing plans. Develop and implement community outreach and education programs in coordination with management team, communications department or other approved agencies. Coordinates with other Intermountain Physical Therapy programs as needed to monitor development, marketing, and growth.
Education: Maintain reputation of excellence through continuing education, certifications etc for clinical staff. Coordinate clinical internships/affiliations when necessary.
Quality Improvement & Assurance: Assists staff in identifying areas appropriate for quality monitoring and in developing meaningful quality indicators. Responsible for outcome input. Responsible to continually improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Research: May aid in research design, statistical analysis, protocol implementation, budget management, and publication of research findings; ensuring that all research activities follow established Intermountain Healthcare guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

Current State Physical Therapist License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Specialty certification for APTA - EP, Ortho, Sports Med, Pediatric, geriatric, cardio/pulmonary, ECS, Neurological, Sports, Women's Health,
or Certified Hand Therapist (CHT),
or Lymph Edema Association of North America Certification (CLT-LANA),
or Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT),
or Neuro IFRAH Instructor or Certification.
Five years of Physical Therapy Therapist experience in area of specialty.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic Computer Skills.

Physical Requirements

Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, and Walking.

Preferred Requirements

Highly prefer Sports Certified Specialist (SCS)
Completed a sports residency.
Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS)
Certified Athletic Trainer experience (ATC)
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
