Flagship Biosciences seeks a Scientist to join our Science Team and contribute significantly to our efforts in advancing the art of tissue biomarker development and image analysis in clinical medicine and diagnostics. Reporting to the Chief Science Officer, the Scientist will act as an individual contributor on Discovery and Clinical project teams which develop novel IHC/ISH assays and complementary image analysis solutions. The Scientist will be the key technical contact with our pharmaceutical industry clients, and will design biomarker studies supporting drug development for Oncology, Immune-Mediated, and Musculoskeletal diseases. The Scientist will be accountable for data analysis and interpretation efforts and will author experimental reports and client-facing presentations. By partnering with our internal Account Management and Project Management teams, the Scientist will build the tactical and strategic aspects of the client relationship and their biomarker and companion diagnostic (CDx) plans. The Scientist will also travel (up to 25%) to client sites for project and program reviews and business development opportunities. The Scientist will expand Flagship’s scientific capabilities by contributing to and leading internal research and development efforts, and is expected to demonstrate scientific leadership through publications, meeting platform or poster presentations, white papers, patents, and other scientific communications.

In This Role You Will:
Act as the scientific interface between Flagship and our biotech/pharma and diagnostic partners
Design experiments to effectively and efficiently answer the client’s biological questions
Engage internal or external scientific resources as necessary in support of client’s scientific objectives
Analyze and interpret data to support client decision making needs within clinical drug and CDx development
Support client in communication with their internal customers/stakeholders
Lead and contribute to internal research and development efforts
Monitor relevant literature reports and technological developments
Contribute to business development through value based capability presentations
Partner with Account Management and Project Management teams to meet the tactical and strategic goals of the client
Support Sales and Marketing and Business Development objectives including input on marketing materials and technical input for potential new clients and offerings
Act as scientific lead supporting on-site and off-site client visits
Contribute to Flagship’s scientific leadership through attendance and presentations at conferences, publications and patents

About You:
PhD in biological sciences
Experience with tissue-based assay development and analysis
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data in a biological context
Experience delivering technical presentations to teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment, with limited direct supervision
Ability to travel up to 25%
Fluent in English, both verbal and written

Preferred qualifications:
Three or more years of applicable experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
Experience with tissue-based image analysis software
Expertise in immuno-oncology
Working knowledge of CLIA, GCP/GLP quality standards
Location and position type: This is a full-time exempt position based in the Westminster, CO Flagship office.
