We are looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to manage our engineering and business systems infrastructure in public cloud (70%) and on premises (30%). The technical environment consists of Linux and its variants, Windows, VMWARE, Google and Amazon Cloud, etc. The candidate will manage and support compute environment consumed by variety of business groups for product development, research and other business functions. This position requires a technically adept individual who can work in teams across global boundaries, applying creative thought to solve complex computing challenges.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, install, configure, administer, and maintain highly scalable, available, and elastic solutions that implement industry best practices using GCP or AWS.
Understanding of Infrastructure and comfortable managing and provisioning computer data centers through machine-readable definition files. Install and configure virtual cloud instances in GCP or AWS.
Support cloud servers, including security configurations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Work with CI/CD tools to deliver infrastructure as code – GitHub, Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline
Design, configure, implement, system policies and procedures, including budgeting and security strategies.
Perform capacity planning for system configuration, software services, network services, load distribution, and service interrelationships among cloud infrastructure (VPC’s, instances, storage).
Develop scripts for automating operations as well as monitor them for abnormal behavior.
Act as project owner on large-scale computing projects in which strong technical skills are necessary.
Manage vendor relationships and effectively utilize vendor customer support to address issues.
Maintaining a general level of expertise in GCP, AWS, Linux technologies.
Ability to configure VMs and Cloud Infrastructure through GCP Web Portal and Command Line Interface through Linux
Establishing and maintaining key client interaction and support, providing administrative reporting on the infrastructure to Head of IT infrastructure operations.
Collaborating with the development team on future direction and opportunities for new technology.
Effective and timely communication with clients in understanding client business needs and developing operational strategies.
Configure and integrate software development tool chain to support continuous integration including continuous deployment as required.
Analyze, design, code, and test software to meet business and system requirements
Adhere to high quality software development standards

Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of experience supporting an IT infrastructure role supporting OS, storage, virtualization platforms.
2-3+ years hands on experience in implementation and operation of Docker Containers, Kubernetes, native Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Familiarity with ONE configuration management tool i.e. Cloudformation, Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Chef would be a big plus.
Experience in supporting tools used for development such as Jenkins, Artifactory, JIRA, Crucible is a plus
Demonstrable experience automating recurring administrative tasks using any scripting tools
Ability to learn new technologies quickly, handle concurrent projects with appropriate priority and to work with team members and stakeholders in other geographic locations, across time zones, across cultures
Excellent written, verbal communication and collaboration skills
Self-driven and ability to work independently and interact with project teams.
Demonstrated success handling initiatives of high complexity and risk
Works with little/no supervision and some guidance
Work experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry (preferred)
