Full Job Description
Wittenberg University is seeking an Admission Counselor/Senior Admission Counselor/Assistant Director of Admission. This energetic and creative individual will assist in the application & evaluation, recruitment & outreach, visitor experience, marketing, communication, and operations efforts of the Office of Admission. This position reports to the Director of Admission.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Review application materials in an accurate and timely manner.
Meet with or present information sessions to prospective students and applicants as assigned.
Plan, manage, and evaluate recruitment activities, and serve as the primary contact for prospective students in an assigned region.
Travel for recruitment purposes, including high school visits, college fairs, area interviews, and other prospective student events both on and off campus.
Develop a recruitment plan for meeting enrollment goals.
Implement a professional written and verbal communication plan with prospective students.
Collaborate and cultivate relationships with alumni and departments across campus.
Safeguard confidentiality of student, staff, and University information by exercising discretion in communication and handling of records and other materials.
Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission, Director of Operations, Vice President for Enrollment Management, and Program Directors.
A bachelor's degree.
1 - 3 years of experience required.
Exceptional organization skills, including planning, documenting processes, improving efficiencies, and follow-through.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary; strong public speaking skills with comfort in front of a large audience.
Ability to articulate the value and benefits of a liberal arts education to a variety of audiences.
Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and other software, databases, and equipment as assigned. Skill in the use of Slate CRM and presentation software is preferred.
A valid driver's license is required; must meet required insurance qualifications found in Wittenberg Motor Pool policies and procedures. If license is from out of state, successful candidate will need to obtain a valid Ohio driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
Ability to work weekends, evenings and travel independently up to 10+ weeks annually.
Be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 50% of work day.
Frequently move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds for various event and activity needs.
