Creativity and innovation are imperative for this role, because at Northrop Grumman, many of the problems we work on are impossible… until they’re not What You'll Get To Do: COAST has an immediate need for a Staff Software Engineer in their Operating System (OS)/COTS/Security (OSC) Sub-Project of a ground systems software area for a large restricted program.
You will be responsible for maintaining several SW product lines, troubleshooting Operating System issues, and executing Linux vulnerability management (CVEs) processes. This position requires continuous coordination and interfacing with SW Sub-Projects, Systems Engineering, the System Administration team, external customers, and multiple site personnel teams. You will work in a dynamic team environment to create and implement well-defined processes. W hat does success look like?
As a successful employee, you will: - Be an active and integral member of your team - Channel your enthusiasm to innovate - Be part of a supportive team that develops and deploys technologies that matter to our nBasic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 14 years of experience; Master's degree in a related field with 12 years of experience - Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, C, C++ - Experience in Linux operating systems - An understanding of reverse engineering techniques - Current or Active TS/SCI Access Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with internal and external customers in a production environment - An understanding of CVEs, vulnerability management, cyber security policies and practices - Previous work experience with the following software application/ file structures: GNU C/C++, O/S internals, X11, openSSL, Perl, Python, csh/tcsh scripting, mySQL/mariaDB, etc.
