Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for a Corporate Counsel professional for our Austin Industrial Services division. The Corporate Counsel will be the primary legal support for Austin Industrial serving the risk management/contracting and legal functions.
This position will be located at our Austin Industrial headquarters based in LaPorte, Texas.
Will primarily represent and be responsible for all legal matters at Austin Industries’ industrial division headquartered in LaPorte, Texas. Primary workload will involve contracting, risk management, project team support, and claims.
Will work at the corporate level and directly report to the Chief Legal Officer.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts of various types including, but not limited to, prime contracts, maintenance agreements, purchase orders, subcontracts, joint venture agreements, letters of intent, consulting agreements, and other transactions that arise from Austin Industrial’s business.
Perform legal due diligence, records searches, and legal research.
Work proactively in conjunction with various departments to identify and address legal and business issues.
Some limited travel inside the United States.
JD and a minimum of 4 years’ practical experience.
Major law firm experience.
Strong academic credentials.
Construction industry experience preferred.
This position is based at Austin Industrial’s headquarters in LaPorte, Texas.
Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to meet the high expectations of a demanding work environment while maintaining independence and objectivity.
Ability to work autonomously, efficiently, and proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a commitment to quality.
Sharp, resourceful, dedicated individual with strong work ethic.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to relate to a diverse workforce.
